The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for identifying the nutritional needs of patients and developing a plan of intervention, to improve the patient's nutritional status, and educating patients concerning therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

* Complies with DRMC polices and procedures, with accreditation agency requirements, federal, state, or local law and regulations.

  • Participates in the formulation and implementation of departmental goals, policies, and procedures
  • Monitors patient screening for identification of patients at nutritional risk.
  • Assists in developing standards of cre for specific patient situations and assist the Chief Clinical Dietitian with the coordination of Nutrition Risk Screening program
  • Develops nutrition care plan which includes long-term and short-term objectives, nutritional requirements, education needs, on-going monitoring for changes/new information,, and evaluation of outcomes
  • Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates nutrition education for clients; arranges for  individual follow-up as needed
  • Evaluates the effects of intervention concerning Patients nutritional status
  • Consults with health care team to coordinate nutrition care of clients
  • Evaluates food served for quality and accuracy according to diet prescription
  • Participates in educational and community involvement opportunities.
  • General Duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelors degree in Dietetics or Nutrition-related field, masters degree preferred.
  • Must be registered with the American Dietetic Association.
  • Must have a minimum of (1) year experience in related field.
  • License by the state of Pennsylvania, required.
  • Microsoft Office skills, required.
